Mission: Where no man has gone before.
=*=Chief of Security's Office=*=
Acting Captain Mark Rhodes had been making his rounds of the ship to get on the same page as everyone else and he found himself in Security. He hit the chime of the Chief of Security's Office and waiting for a call from within.
"Enter" Alyssa called as she gave a dismissal nod to the ensign she'd been talking to. One would think they would be ready for anything, but no, the first shake up and they freak out. Had she been that bad she wondered.
"Greetings Lieutenant," said Mark entering the officer. "Sorry to disturb you," he noticed her black eye. "I see you had an altercation? Our UFP guests Ill guess?"
Rising, Aly nodded. "Aye Sir. And your not disturbing me. What can I do for you?"
"Have a seat Lieutenant, no need to get up on my account. I was curious as to the status of our guests. I was going to leave them in the hold for a few days then have a conversation and see if they know anything. I will suggest Intel sit in with us as well, she may know some different tactics for information extraction," said Mark.
"The guests are settled, I also have extra security around the brig to make sure they don't try any thing stupid. So whenever you are ready Sir, and I have no problem with Intel being there." Aly said after taking a seat once more, her gaze never leaving the Mark.
"Something else I would like to talk to you about. I know after the Executive Officer was moved from his command position you were billeted to take command. Admiral Malone made the call that you were not ready for such a stringent command. But I would like you to stay as Second Officer, learning as we go along. Does that sound alright Lieutenant?" asking Mark.
Alyssa looked at him a moment, having not really thought about the changes of command and what that might have meant for her. In a way though, she was glad with Malone's decision. After jumping the gun and assuming things with Eric, she'd realized herself she still needed to do a bit of... growing up... so to speak. At least when it came to some things. "Aye, that's fine Captain." She said with a slightly shy smile.
"The more I hear it out loud the more its starting to terrify me," said Mark with a boyish smile. "Thank you for staying on Lieutenant. Well I must be moving on. If anything changes with our guests please inform me immediately."
"You'll do fine, Sir" She offered in a comforting tone before she gave a slight nod of her head. "Alright, I'll keep you updated on them." She couldn't help but to stand as he went to take his leave.
"Keep up the good work Lieutenant," said Mark as he left the office and headed onto the next department to check in.
