Personal History Shakkar was born on earth to a pair of former starfleet officers. Life was good. He had a close circle of friends, was a good student, etc. He spent his days mostly hanging out and reading. He also signed up for the school orchestra, learning Violin.

After he turned eleven his parents retired from Starfleet permanently the family settled in small town America. This was a little bit of a culture shock for Rick as he was used to the big city. He got a little angry at leaving his friends as well. He didn't let on but you could tell he was angry. He didn't know what to do about it and the anger started to control him.

As a release Rick took up martial arts. This helped discipline him and it allowed him to let go and just live. He made new friends but still felt like he was without a purpose. Starfleet as always an option, but he wanted to find out for himself.

One day after school he popped into the recruiting office and picked up some brochures. He red them in his off time and found out about Starfleet academy. He applied that day. He buckled down so that his graded made the mark and he was accepted.

After freshman orientation it was time to choose a major. Randomly he picked medical with a minor in counseling. The next three years blew by and the next thing he knew he was on his cadet cruise. While at the academy however he found time to indulge in his hobbies. Chief among those were his music and learning to play chess

He was assigned to the USS Armstrong as a senior cadet and he loved every minute of it. That seemed to flu by as well. The CO was impressed with the young cadet that he was invited to join the Armstrong crew. he gladly accepted.

He served on the Armstrong as a counselor/Morale officer. Work was slow however so he applied to take more of an active role. He was denied so he continued there for a while until the Armstrong made port at star base Cheyenne. He learned that there was a posting open there so he applied. To his delight he was accepted.

He has recently had the nagging urge to join an active starship however
