His left arm is significantly stronger than his right, a cybernetic replacement after an accident on the USS Anderson damaged the arm and shoulder joint severely. |

| General Overview | Being an only child from a mixed family, Thelin found himself ousted by the majority of the children he met but rather than making him reclusive and quiet, it forced the half-blood to become louder and more outgoing than most, this has led to him becoming a very forward, yet personable officer. Over the years he has found a deep mistrust of Flag Officers, blaming them all for his ship being decommissioned at the end of the Second Dominion War. |

| Personal History | In his early life, Thelin was a secluded child, not because he lived alone, but because he was made an outcast by his fellow Andorians, coming from a hybrid family, he was considered... abnormal, through the years this made the young man open, loud and exceedingly honest, sometimes to a fault. On the eve of his 18th Birthday, he announced to his parents that he intended to join Starfleet, settling for a career as an Engineer, he made steady progress through the academy, nothing spectacular to speak of, but a natural ability with technology, his slight telepathic powers also giving him a telling edge in his interactions with his fellow classmates. At the end of his fourth year, the young Cadet th'Zarath was sent out to the USS Anderson, a recon border patrol craft on the Cardassian border, as an Engineering officer, he was simply put to work on routine maintenance and repairs until the ship found themselves being attacked by pirates operating out of the Badlands, the ship sustained moderate damage and the casualties included the Assistant Chief Engineer, needing an extra set of hands the Vulcan Chief Engineer Tolvik ordered the young Andorian to take up command of the damage control teams while he set about stabilising the warp core. Under his direction, the damage control teams were ruthless and efficient when dealing with critically damaged areas of the ship, sealing them off and repairing them in record time, the Andorian even found the time to get himself inside the Jefferies tubes surrounding engineering to assist in repairs personally, all the time maintaining a handle on the damage control teams from a dataslate in his pocket. Upon their return to Deep Space Nine the crew served up the remembrance services for their fallen comrades and the Chief Engineer formally invited Thelin to take up the Assistant Chief position, at first the Andorian declined, citing the need for someone holding an appropriate rank, however the Vulcan had prepared for this and with the Captain's approval, promoted the young Andorian on the spot to Ensign, his Cadet Cruise having been signed off as a success by the impressed Captain. |
