Karim smiled slightly as he heard the officer at helm report that they were in orbit and answering all stop. The ship had been travelling for a short period after leaving the station, and had entered an orbit of a moon in a remote area. Picking up a nearby padd, he scanned it and sighed. There was still so much work to be done. Clearing his throat he said "Dhej to all department heads. We've entered orbit around a remote moon and have answered an all stop. I want everyone to take some time to ensure that their departments are prepared for whatever upcoming mission will be forthcoming." Pausing, he added "I do have some specific orders to request. Firstly, Security I want confirmation that all equipment is working order, and that everyone is up to date on the latest protocols. Next, Tactical, please confirm that all weapons systems are working at peak efficiency."

Taking a breath, he added "Next, Engineering. Please ensure all systems are working as they should and that any repairs that have been delayed are completed immediately. I want to be able to go from dead stop to warp 9 immediately if needed. Science, we have what appears to be a friendly planet below the moon we are orbiting. Please confirm it is habitable and does not possess any dangers to the crew. Medical, please ensure all crewmembers have completed their quarterly physicals, and that your staff is prepped on all triage scenarios." Pausing again, and consulting his padd, he added "I know this may seem like a lot of work, but I want the ship to be ready at a moments notice. Please forward department readiness reports to myself and Captain Rhodes. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please let me know. Dhej out."

Closing the com, he stood up from the command chair and stretched. Turing his attention to the officer at helm. he said "Ensign Mason, when we were making our approach, I noticed a slight variance in our heading. Have our navigational systems been upgraded lately?" The young woman thought for a moment and said "No sir. From what I see there are a few updates that haven't been installed." Smiling, he said "Then let's get to work getting those installed." He began typing away on a nearby console bringing up the specs on the new upgrade.
