Karim sighed slightly as he waited by the front doors of the main meeting building. Thankfully he had mostly recovered from his injuries and was only a bit sore. Soon the doors opened and an aide motioned him to follow him. Nodding he followed the man into a large open area. Seated on a large cushion, Karim saw Barula, who with a slight lift of her head, indicated him to take a seat beside her.

Barula smiled weakly and said "Thank you for coming Commander. I was concerned you wouldn't be willing to continue to aid us after what's happened."

Shaking his head, he replied "Of course First Mother. The attack was obviously severe, but we are here to help, even more so then we we responded to your distress call."

Dipping her head, she replied "Thank you Commander. I trust your people are well?"

Nodding, Karim said "Yes for the most part. We had some serious injuries, but everyone is recovering. How are your people?"

Sadly she replied "It pains me to inform you that two of our protectors were seriously injured in the explosion and succumbed to their pain. They are now with the Creator."

Nodding, Karim replied "I am sorry for your loss. I hope we can help you to prevent more loss of life." Pausing, he added "To that end, I was hopeful that we would be able to talk about how we can help. We do have a.... guiding rule that prevents us from becoming involved with internal conflicts with other cultures. We can however help you improve your defensive systems if you would want us to. I am hesitant however to do so, as we don't know a lot about your technical abilities, and that same rule prevents us from sharing technology with less advanced cultures."

Smiling, she replied "We would appreciate any help you could provide, even though you've offered so much already. You din't however need to worry about sharing your technology. While it's true we are an isolationist culture, we do observe the universe around us. We do know of a lot of your commonly used technology. We did develop our own versions of some if it, including the transporter systems. One of our research groups developed it out of interest, but we decided it wasn't necessary for our daily lives. So certainly feel free to use what you normally do without concern. I will instruct our people not to ask undue questions as well."

Smiling he replied "Thank you for sharing that information with us. It will help us better serve your people. If there is nothing further, I will return to the temporary command post we've set up and work on some plans. Either myself or my Executive Officer Lieutenant Commander Adrianna Hunter will be in touch about our next steps."

After receiving a nod, he left, en route to the runabout where he was eager to get to work. After Baruala's revelations about her people, he felt slightly more comfortable with the way the mission would proceed.
