Nanee was exhausted but apparently her work wasn't done for reason unknown to her she was never told of a new medical officer joining her department. So apparently she needed to do the welcome brief tapping her badge after getting a refreshed Drava tea Nanee called the medical officer into her office. "Ah ensign.......Kennedy please take a seat."

"Thank you." April said, taking a seat opposite the lieutenant.

Sipping on her tea she looked over the ensign's jacket sighing it wasn't like she didn't like the officers that actually went that extra step and went and got their MD but it did bug her. "Interesting choice for your specialty may I ask why did you come here to wrap-up your fellowship seeing as their are no children on-board."

"I have two interests, one is pediatrics, the other is emergency medicine, I wanted to get an experience in both, hence why I chose here, as it's one of the ships on the frontline." April said.

Nanee nodded, "I see that you finished the academy and finished up privately. May I ask why you went that route?"

"I found that I got more out of going private, and I didn't really get on well with some of the other academy students..." April said cautiously, not wanting to annoy or offend anyone.

The ensign just nailed the thing on the head, "but you than chose to serve on a ship where those cadets would be serving?" Nanee asked.

"I chose a ship that didn't have as many of said cadets on board, I believe there are only one or two of the cadets from my graduation year on board." April said, wondering wether this annoyed Nanee at all.

Eyeing the ensign, "so once you finished up your fellowship and your required service time in Starfleet would be staying or going back to the private sector?"

"Depending how I find the pressure of a starship will affect that, but I aim to be here a while, you won't get rid of me that easily!" April said.

"Good 'cause I demand the best from my officers. There is no room for any mistakes or mess-ups." Nanee said taking another couple sips of her tea trying to keep herself awake. "Now do you have any questions for me?"

"No Lieutenant, when would you like me to start my shift?" April asked.

"You'll be working the day shift under my watch for the first few months. Once I think you can handle it you'll take the Dog Watch shift (graveyard shift) and after you prove to me that you can do that well than I'll consider moving you to the night shift." Nanee said sliding a PaDD over with some reading material. "memorize everything on that PaDD before tomorrow any questions do not hesitate to call me or ask one of the physician mates. They're going to be your best friend in this department with that said do not piss them off."

"Thank you for your time lieutenant, I will see you tomorrow." April said, rising from the seat, and heading for the door.

Nanee just nodded both in agreeance and that the ensign was dismissed. Tapping a few more buttons she made sure to star her jacket wanting to keep an eye on the women.
