Having just materialized onto the transporter padd S'relli took a second to get his bearings. He payed his respects to the chief and exited the transporter room. " Computer, location of nearest turbolift. It replied that it was one meter down the passageway. he made his way there and ordered it to take him to the bridge. What he saw astounded him. " so that's what the bridge looks like. You could probably fit a runabout in here!" he said to himself. He walked down the ramp to what he assumed was the door to the ready room and pressed the panel.

Karim looked up with a weary sigh as he heard the door chime yet again. Clearing his throat he said "Come in." Noticing an individual he didn't recognize he said "May I help you Petty Officer?"

S'relli straightened up and addressed his new CO. " Petty officer first class S'relli sir." he said. " My orders." he added handing over a PADD.

Examining the padd, he acknowledged the transfer orders and said "Please Mr. S'relli, take a seat. I trust your trip here was pleasant?"

S'relli planted himself in the offered seat. "It was, sir. Thank you for asking." he said

Smiling, he said "I understand you have been assigned as physicians mate. Might I ask why you didn't choose to pursue the officer path and climb the ranks of the enlisted?"

S'relli was thrown for a loop. ' Honestly I do not know sir." he began. "I'd have to say low self esteem brought on by my childhood. My parents were officers and their first assignment brought about their deaths." He cleared his throat. " I wouldn't be opposed the prospect of becoming one, however. Someday." he added.

Nodding, understanding, Karim replied "I understand, and I'm sorry for your loss. If you ever choose to pursue the path towards an officer commission, let me know and I will do what I can to help you."

" Thank you, sir." was the reply.

Nodding, he said "Of course. So, to business. You will be working with our Chief Medical Officer, Lieutenant Nanee Quoicho. I would suggest once you are settled, that you report to her to begin your duties."

"I= I will sir. Thank you." S'relli replied

Smiling, he said "Dismissed Mr. S'relli."
