It wasn't common for a star fleet officer to make an arrival on a civilian transport ship but sometimes one has to and it was since the Enterprise was currently with the Vindicator in Stenellis space.

But Keras didn't mind the travel when he was beamed planetside because he actually enjoyed slight changes that Alth'Indor was trying to teach him still..however he could've done without the scientific argument with a Zakadorn scientist of all creatures.

After a few minutes of being planetside, he arrived at the captain's location. "Captain Dhej?" he asked respectfully

Karim looked up from a padd he was reading as he saw someone enter the Aquarius. Clearing his throat he said "Can I help you with something Mr....?"

The hybrid stood a little bit straighter as he said "I am Lieutenant Keras tr'Slayton, sir. Transferring to the Enterprise from the Intrepid and reporting as science officer." which inwardly he winced as he realized how stiff that possibly sounded to the captain.

Nodding, Karim replied "It's nice to meet you Lieutenant, I assume you have transfer orders for me? Also I apologize for having you meet me down here, I know it is a bit ...unusual."

Keras shook his head, "Not at all, sir. The unusual is a common factor in exploration and science but pardon my asking but how is it unusual?" he asked honestly.

Sighing, he replied "I'm sorry Lieutenant. I meant unusual because I prefer to meet new officers on board, in my ready room. We are in the middle of negotiations with the Stenellis however, and I'm needed here."

Keras nodded, "Understandable. How are they going?"

Sighing, Karim replied "They are going well, but slow. That being said, I'd like you to review the scientific information Starfleet has provided us on the Stenellis. I know it has been reviewed many times by experts, but I would like a fresh perspective on the information." Pausing he added "Also, once you are on board and settled in, I'd like you to come up with recommendations for specialists for your department. Prepare a report outlining what types of specialists you require, for example astrometrics, xenobilogy etc."

"I'll get on reviewing the data at once, captain. But may I ask by what you mean by slow, does it seem like they are purposely drawing the negotiations or something else?" Keras asked simply, a number of other questions already going through his mind.

Shaking his head, he replied "I'm not sure Lieutenant, but I am hoping they speed up soon. I'll keep an eye out for your report on the data and your staff requisitions. Is there anything else we need to go over before you get to work?"

"Nothing else sir, just let me know when you need that information and I will get it to you." Keras answered. "As for the staffing, that may take a little bit of time in order for me to track down the proper specialists but I have a few ideas."

"Thank you Lieutenant" he replied "I would like the report as soon as you can complete it. If there is nothing else, you are dismissed."

Keras didn't say a word but inclined his head in a respectable manner before leaving to go about his duty.
