Acting Captain Mark Rhodes paced his office and overlooked his PaDD of information. He decided it was time to let Lt Quoicho know of that was about to occur in Medical with shifting titles and duties. "Lt Quoicho, I would like to speak with you in my Ready Room, immediately," said Mark continuing to pace.

"On my way." Nanee said cutting the comm link. Grabbing her Cpadd she headed out of the infirmary and to the ready room. Arriving outside the door she hit the chime and waited to be invited in. She had a feeling that it was gonna be about lieutenant commander Scarlet.

Mark heard the chime and walked behind his desk, sinking into his chair. "Come," he called out to the door as he pulled down his tunic to adjust it.

"You called, captain?" Nanee asked as she walked in and took a look around.

"Yes," said Mark. "Have a seat. We have a few things to talk about. I have some news regarding your position in Sickbay. First of all you are being promoted, in a sense. I am going to have you and Lieutenant Rogers jointly run the department. There has been a change and you are going to both operate as Assistant Chief Medical Officers. You will work together as equals now."

This was new she had never heard of a department being ran by two different people. "May I ask why the joint chief route?"

"Because I feel like you can run the department, and I want you two to work together because Lieutenant Rogers had made a few questionable calls in the past," said Mark plainly.

"So we're equals in the department. What if she pulls rank?" Nanee asked without blinking.

"'Pulls rank'?" asked Mark confused. "Oh, yes. The rank of Lieutenant Commander was taken away from Doctor Rogers, she is now Lieutenant Rogers," said Mark realizing Nanee wouldn't have known of the demotion.

Truthfully Nanee could care less about any and all of this as long as it allowed her to continuing to practice medicine without all of the political bullshit she would do as ordered. "And the Lieutenant is aware of this?"

"She has been made aware of the situation," said Mark. "If it becomes a problem I will have another discussion with her. Aside from that, any issues will be brought to the attention of Commander Dhej. With his background in medical he should be able to mediate any disputes, not that I am planning on there being any," said Mark looking to Nanee.

Made sense that was the reason for the executive officer was to handle those issues. "Okay.....anything else I should be made aware of?"

"Off the record, I want you to keep an eye on Doctor Rogers. If feel anything is being done out of line, you are to let myself and Commander Dhej know immediately. She was cleared of the suspicions," said Mark. "But I would like to be safe, rather then very sorry."

Growling slightly this was exactly what she didn't want to happen but at the same time it was keeping the crew safe. "Of course I'll do what I can.....but I well not lie to her." Nanee said straight looking at Mark. "I am doing this to protect the crew and she's part of the crew."

"By all means," said Mark. "If she asks you can inform her I asked you to keep an open eye. No fault in that."

Nanee nodded feeling a bit better bust still hating the idea. "Was there anything else. I've been working on finding a suitable counselor to the lieutenant."

"That is all, thank you for your service Lieutenant," said Mark standing.

Nanee just nodded stood and left.

As Nanee left, Mark shifted PaDDs and started reading.
