Jackson was busy doing what he called 'scut' work which meant he was in the ER seeing patients; physicals, any kind of body aches and your typical scrapes, cuts and bruises. "Alright.....crewmen......crewmen Jones please hop up on the biobed." Jackson said in a bit of a bored tone. The crewmen did as the civilian medical professional said but was not happy about it. Jackson walked over to the wall and started the scan, "now crewmen is there anything I should know about?"
"No my family history is clean, I've never been diagnosed with anything. I've had the couple bruised ribs and broken bones but nothing major." Crewmen Jackson said looking at the what she had to assume was the most egotistical man she has ever met.
"Petty officer Morgan could you please come in here?" Jackson said hitting the wall communication in the room. "So family history of cancer?" Crewmen Jones looked terrified as she shook her head just as Malena walked in.
"Jackson what in the hell have you done to this poor crewmen?" Malena harshly whispered glaring at him.
"I didn't do anything but I think the biobeds are messed up, 'cause it's telling me she has stage four liver, breast and bond cancer." Jackson whispered back, "take her down to the Aquarius and see if their biobeds are working down there. I'll get a engineer in here."
Malena just nodded and got the terrified crewmen off of the bed while Jackson called for an engineer. "This isn't good," he muttered to himself as he walked over to the nurses station, "so, has anyone else complain about miss diagnosis's by biobed today?" The physician mates just nodded, "alright inform the chief."
Gordon headed from engineering to the infirmary after getting the call from the civilian surgical specialist that it was his turn to deal with things on his own. As he entered the infirmary he passed a worried looking crewmen. "Dare I ask what you said to that crewmen Jackson?" He asked as he walked towards Jackson.
Jackson shook his head, "not now cadet we've got a big problem on how hands I've got at least 5 reports of biobes giving false readouts. Luckily it hasn't led to anything bad but it well. So I suggest you start running diagnostics and tell me what's going on." Jackson said frustrated.
Gordon got his tricorder out and started to scan the biobed. "How long has this been going on for then?" He asked as he looked at an in depth image of the biobeds current state. " Looks like there's a problem with the terminal, not the biobeds, the data's getting muddled up as it moves to the terminal, meaning that the data on the terminal gets changed. I can fix it, but it'll take some time!" Gordon said as he finished scanning the biobed and turned to the console.
"How long is it gonna take to fix?" Jackson asked looking at the young engineer.
"A few hours minimum..." Gordon said as he stood up from under the console and tapped his com badge. "Jones to Dame, can you come down to sickbay, I need you to look at something for me." He said as he took some more scans of the bio bed and console.
"The Dame here, I am on my way," a few moments later the brunette bombshell walked into sickbay. "What did you gentlemen mange to break this time?" she asked with a cunning smile.
"Biobeds and the longer they stay like this the more we're gonna put this crew in danger." Jackson said looking at the 'Dame', "so if you've anymore wise cracks I suggest you keep them to yourselves so you can get the beds working again." Jackson said sounding annoyed.
"You fix people, I fix parts. I am here, let me do my job," she said defensively. She took out her tricorder an began a scan walking towards Gordon. "What do we have here Gordon?" she asked.
Gordon had already sent the scans from his tricorder to a console to show the other engineer. "I believe it's a virus, I believe it was redundant till Jackson here inadvertently activated it. I've severed the links to other systems to prevent further infection. I don't know what other systems may have been infected, so I'd like to run a ship wide diagnostic. I'm unsure what to do about this part of the virus though." Gordon said as he bought different scans up.
"Hey like the lady grease monkey said I deal with people you people are the ones who should've picked up this virus in our equipment." Jackson said sighing as he looked at the pair of engineers.
The Dame came alive at the usage of such vulgar terms. She spun on her heel and put one finger up in the face of Jackson. "Hey, you leave now. Go, out. Until this bay is fixed there isn't a damn thing you can do other then be in the way. Until we break some people, and we get this fixed, consider this an engineering matter. Out!" she called up to the man much taller then herself but not backing down.
"Fine. Just get it done." And with that Jackson stormed off to the doctors lounge to see what he could do get the physicals done faster.
Gordon glanced at the retreating figure of Jackson, before turning to the other engineer and saying. "At least he said that to you...if he'd have said it to me he'd have had more than just being told to get out..."
"Damn dirty scapul Jockies," said The Dame as she blew a string of hair out of her face. "Lets get to work."
