JDL |Lt Quoicho & Avery & Sh'eik| The cat came back the very next day - part 2

Mission: Holy Cow
Location: Sickbay

Sh'eik materialized on biobed two followed beside the bed by the EMH as the program transferred to the sickbay holo-emitters.

"Computer end program," Jackson shouted as the EMH shimmered away. "Get a mask on him, get a IV going." Jackson said knowing one of the physician mates was gonna get Nanee. While that was going on Jackson pushed some meds to help balance things out.

Sh'eik wasn't stable stable but stable enough that Jackson could step back and try and figure out what's going on. "Jackson what's going on?"

"Patient is presenting with high heart rate, low blood pressure which in turn is causing difficulty breathing." Jackson said handing over the PaDD. "Alright come get me when the lab results get in." With that Nanee decided to do some digging something wasn't feeling right about this. Seeing that the last time she saw this patient he was perfectly healthy.

Sh'eik groaned, his vision blurry, as a mask was pinned over his whiskers...

"Elders..." He tried to look at and focus on Jackson, but with one eye blind and a migrane making the vision in the other fuzzy, he couldn't properly make eye contact.

"No no I'm doctor Jackson Avery. I need you to take deep slow breaths. We're trying to figure out what's wrong with you." Jackson said calmly as he walked over to the bed.

Sh'eik squinted and tried to slow his breathing. He didn't feel like inhaling was bringing him any air. The myriad of different kinds of pain he was feeling made it difficult to sort out words, but he decided pain near his head was probably the most important.
He couldn't see Avery, so he reached out to find him, "I can't see."

"Okay give me a second and we'll take a look into that for you. Anything else?" Jackson said as he started giving orders for some more tests now that they had more to work on.

Sh'eik bit into a jowl trying to distract his mind from the pain and terror growing within him. Not once in his 16 years of life had he had more than a cold...
"M-my head... The right side," his words were interupted as a shiver ran up his spine making him gasp, "it feels too full..." He didn't know how to really explain it, and felt foolish. How do you tell a doctor it feels like your eye is coming out?

He shrieked in a very uncatlike way as one of the orderlies brushed his right foot, and he stiffened painfully. "And my paw."

"Alright I'm gonna give you some pain meds," Jackson said pressing a hypospray against his neck, "but I need you to stay awake for me." Jackson said giving him one more hypospray this time with a drug that would help keep him awake and help stave off the sedative part of the pain med.

Sh'eik felt immediately drowsy with the first hypo, then unnaturally awake from the second. The pain ebbed in his footpaw and head, but the uncomfortable pressure in both remained and he still couldn't make out more than hazey monochrome blobs in his vision.

Despite growing anxiety within him, the Cait relaxed visibly.
"Thank you..." It was almost a purr.

"Alright I can't do any more for you until I get the test results back." Jackson said looking at him, "but I promise we'll get to the bottom of this." He said as he looked over the scans, "but you can answer me some questions. The pain in your head is it worth on your right or left side?"

"The right side." Sh'eik's breathing was calming now, though his heart was still pumping quite quickly.

Nodding Jackson was flabbergasted by what he was looking at. "Okay I need to discuss somethings with my chief but we'll be back with a plan of attack to figure out what's going on."

Sh'eik almost panicked. He couldn't see, and there his lifeline was leaving. His right ear was still drooping, lazily out of control, but the left one folded flat quite strongly against his skull as Avery left. He didn't know what to do or say, or even which direction people might be. He tried to envision sickbay in his mind and map out where people were. Luckily his other senses quickly reminded him he wasn't alone. He could smell them, though his hearing seemed muddy, so he still couldn't tell where they all were.

"Someone stays in the room with him. He's out of the woods for now. But that could turn quickly." Jackson said quietly to the physician mate as he headed out to find Nanee.

Sh'eik sat quietly, heart still pounding. He could tell it was supposed to still hurt, but it didn't. Medical trickery of some sort. Hearing that someone wouldn't be far set him more at ease, but sitting in sickbay... again, left him uneasy. It crossed his mind that he was quickly becoming a burden to Quoicho's staff and he hoped this would be over soon. He looked around, trying to see anything without any luck.
