Mission:
Holy Cow
Location: Sickbay
= E =
Nanee was in her office trying to stave off the oncoming headache; between Sh'eik being back in sickbay, the upcoming mission, the mystery biology of the chief intelligence officer and what the latest family news Nanee was exhausted. But her console had other things planned. A incoming alert that a new officer was assigned to Enterprise a new XO.
Tapping on a few things she looked through her medical history mainly to see when her last physical was. Clicking a simple button that the lieutenant commander needed to come down for her physical. Once that was sent she leaned her head back on the seat rest and closed her eyes.
Within the hour, Adrianna Hunter tapped on the door frame, "Lieutenant?"
Opening her eyes she looked up, "ah commander," she said surprised as she stood up. "It's rare that member of the command team shows up to a physical appointment with just one memo."
"Might as well get it over with as opposed to upsetting the staff so early on," she smiled, "That way, when I do need you, I know that you won't be mean."
"I see you haven't gotten through all the personnel files. I'm not known as nice more of a bitch." As she led the commander to a private room to get the physical started.
"On the plus side, it means you'll be open and honest," Adrianna chuckled.
"That I am. I won't beat around the bush." Nanee said as she nodded for her to take a seat on the bed. "So we'll do a full body scan, a couple of blood draws and some questions for your medical history and you'll be done."
"Same old then," the woman hopped up onto the biobed.
Nanee nodded as a physician mate walked in and worked on getting the scanner ready as another one was getting the vials and hypospray ready. "Alright go ahead and just lay down and we'll get the scan going along with the medical history. Can you list any and all medications you're on and any that you've been taking for the past 6 months?"
"None right now, but over the past six months I've been on loads of painkillers," she shrugged.
"Can I get the names of them and how long you've been taking them for and for what?" Nanee said making some notes.
"Injuries from working, nothing much, morphine at one point, but mostly dyclaphenic and paracetamol," Adrianna responded, "I used to be chief of security, so I'm sure you understand the injuries we can get.
"I do," Nanee said nodding to the physician mate as the scans came up, "okay you can sit up now. The physician mate well take some blood. Is there any family history of heart, liver or kidney disease?" Nanee asked the commander as the physician mate started taking the samples.
"No, no and no," the XO listed off, somewhat bored, but doing very well at hiding it, "or diabetes or anything."
"Okay okay," Nanee said looking at the scans and the commander's medical history, "how long ago was your pregnancy?"
"Almost a year ago," the woman smiled proud.
Taking a deep breath and just nodding realizing when she was on Zetari she never had to deal with so many pregnancies. Seeing as she lost her own child and the ability to have any; all the emotions came rushing back. "Okay that's it we'll call you if we find anything that's unusual in your blood."
"Thanks," she smiled getting off the biobed, "I'll bring my son down when he gets a bit more settled in, if that's ok?"
"Oh....um of course." Nanee said submitting the medical chart knowing that she would have to re-submit after the blood results came in but she needed to end this now.
"You alright?" she asked after the physician mate left.
"I'm fine." Nanee said curtly but remaining professional. "You're free to go." She added curtly.
"If you change your mind about that answer, I'm all ears," the XO said comfortingly, "Anyway, I'll bring my son down, maybe tomorrow morning before work."
"Of course. I won't be in but I'm sure my staff well be more than happy to see you and your son." Nanee said making a note within the scheduling program.
"Thank you muchly," she chirped, "Oh, whilst I'm here, captain's orders. Just need to make sure that you are prepared for a potential influx."
"Commander we are always ready for a influx." Nanee said looking at her as she turned off her CPaDD.
"It's my job to make sure," she smiled, "We don't know what we're about to head into."
Nodding, "anything else?" Nanee asked.
"No," she smiled, "If you ever need me, I'm sure you know how to contact me."
Again Nanee just nodded before she left the room and headed for her office.
