Jackson was on his ER rotation that he had to do about every 2 weeks mainly to give Nanee and the other doctor's a break. He didn't mind the ER he usually had the physician mates doing all the scut work; stitches, dermal regenerator work and things like that. Which meant it gave him time to work on his paper regarding the bovine species they were very interesting and first time for him to meet a bovine species.

"Doctor Avery," Hunter wandered in with her son crying softly into her shoulder, "You got a minute?"

Looking up from his work he nodded, "of course commander what seems to be the problem?"

"This one whacked his head on the table with an ornamont on which fell and smashed, and has had a bit of a bump and cut," she sighed rocking Matthias a little trying to help the little 11 month old to calm.

"Okay let's go to bay 6. We'll get a quick scan of his head and I'll have a physician mate take a look at his cut." Jackson said standing up and leading the commander to the private bay. "Besides that everything else is okay?" Jackson said nodding for Hunter to lay the child on the biobed while the physician mate walked in.

"Well as you can tell, his lungs and vocal chords are working fine," she chuckled and tried to lay him down but Matthias wouldn't let go, "And a good grip, so his muscles are fine." Whispering a little she pleading, "Come on Matthias, let mummy go."

"Try this," Jackson said grabbing something that the child could hold onto, "I find if you can give them something to hold onto it makes it a little bit easier to get them to let go." He said with a small smile as he moved the bed rails in closer to the child so it couldn't roll off.

Adrianna finally managed to break free, "Thank you." She looked at her son and smiled sympathetically seeing the small cut on his forehead, "He decided to stand up using something not that sturdy. It's my fault. I thought I childproofed everything."

"Nah," Jackson said beginning the scan, "you can't child proof everything and you can't predict every move they make or when they'll make it." Jackson added as the scan completed and the physician mate quickly ran the dermal regenerator over it. "Well it all looks good. I would just use some ice to keep the swelling down and I can gave a small dosage of terakine for the pain."

"If he's anything like me, he'll be allergic to that," Adrianna quickly said.

"Alright well unluckily all the other pain killers are a bit too strong for a 11 month year old." Jackson added.

"I mean you can try, it could just be me," she replied, "he may have his dad's genetics for all I know."

"Well let's do something else. We'll run a allergy screening and see what meds he might be allergic to." Jackson said nodding to the physician mate to get the test ready. "It won't take long and it'll be safer in the long run." He added with making some notes on the chart.

"Thank you," she smiled, "You might want to try penicillin too, whilst I'm thinking of it."

Nodding the physician mate started running the test after a few more minuets of small talk the results were back, "looks like he isn't allergic to either penicillin or terakine. Here's the full list of what medications he would be allergic to." Jackson said handing her a PaDD with the list.

The woman read through them, committing the ones she didn't know what they were for to memory, so she could look them up later, "Can you forward this list to me, since I assume you do scans and stuff before you treat."

"Go ahead and keep that PaDD I've got the list transferred to his chart." Jackson said carefully picking up the child and handing it to her. "Everything looks okay. Just let me know if you would like the dosage of terakine and I can make a house call." Jackson added.

"I'm sure he'll be ok without it in the long run, but if you can give him a shot now so that I can get him down for a nap, that would be great. Grumpy Matthias is no fun at all," she chuckled before kissing the top of her son's head.

"Of course," Jackson said getting the hypospray ready and than pushing it against his leg. "Alright there you're he's all better. Anything else?"

"Nope, I think we're ok, unless he has any jabs coming up, I think," the acting XO nodded.

"In the next month he'll need some of his vaccines." Jackson said looking over his chart, "but besides that nothing else."

"Thank you then," Adrianna smiled and held her son lovingly as she left to head back to her quarters.
