".......and he's not getting any better even with the tumor removed?" Nanee asked looking at Jackson who was pacing at this point.

"No and everything we do to relieve one of his symptoms the other ones seem to get worse or refuse to get better. At this point it's his paw which if we can't fix it amputation may be the only solution." Jackson said stopping pacing and looking at Nanee, "and we still don't know really know what happened on that pod."

Nanee nodded as she hit her badge, "Quoicho to Dhej could you please come down to sickbay."

Karim was about to head to his quarters for some lunch when he heard the summons. Tapping his combadge, he said "Acknowledged, on my way." Moments later, he walked into Sickbay and over to Quoicho. Clearing his throat, he said "What's the situation doctor?"

"Commander do you remember rescuing a Cait from a escape pod a few months ago?" Nanee asked nodding for Jackson to take a seat.

Nodding, he looked at her in confusion, "Of course doctor. Mr Sh'eik. Is everything ok?" He knew he hadn't checked in with the young man in a while, with everything going on, but what could've happened to require a visit to sickbay?

"Truthfully he's dying and we can't figure out why." Jackson said, "every move we make to save his life he seems to get worse. Please tell me we still have his escape pod aboard?" He asked looking at the commander.

Shocked by her news, he took a moment to recover and replied "I'm sorry no. He was on a planet in the ruins of his ship that crashed. The runabout I used during the rescue did take detailed scans of the planet and the wreckage however. I can have those supplied to you."

"That would be very helpful." Nanee said looking at Jackson trying to keep him calm. "The other reason we brought you in is that at some point if we can't get things under control we need to make a decision if the continuing of treating him is the right course of action. Mainly with is it gonna cause him more pain than helping."

Sighing, Karim replied "I will have those readings forwarded to you immediately. In terms of his continuing care, he shared with me that his immediate family was lost in the crash of his vessel, and that he didn't have contact with his extended family. If decisions need to be made, I will take responsibility for them."

Nanee nodded this wasn't easy but it needed to be done. "Jackson look over the latest scans and I'll take a look at the readings from the commander. And commander thank you for understanding."

Nodding, he said "Please keep me advised of your progress Doctor." Turning, he left Sickbay, en route to his quarters, where he would try and get some sleep after sending the needed files.
