~~Main Engineering~~

As Coop stepped into engineering, he felt at peace...engineering was his first love and it made him happy to be down in the basement. It was amazing to him how much things changed depending on the ship.

"Excuse me Sir...can I help you?"

Coop looked over to see a Lieutenant standing next to him, "Ah, my apologies Lieutenant. Engineering is like a second home to me. I'm Commander Williams, the XO."

The lieutenant quickly snapped to attention.

Coop raised a hand "relax, Lieutenant. Are you acting chief?"

"Aye sir. Michael Baker, sir."

"Let me have a status update, Mr Baker."

Baker handed Coop a PADD "Sir, we're running Level 1 diagnostics on all propulsion systems. Impulse engines should be done in the next 12 hours. Warp core and the Nacelles should be done in 36. Slipstream will be done in 2 days. 86% of the subsystems have been checked and are operational. the Deflector dish is being replaced and should be done tomorrow. I'll have a better idea of everything else tomorrow."

Coop looked over the PADD as he listened. "This is very thorough...good thing I have the background...I don't have any word on a Chief for the department yet. I'm still getting familiar with the Enterprise...keep up what you're doing Lieutenant. We have 4 days to get up to standard."

Baker nodded "We'll be up to speed sir. Goal is to be 100% before refit is complete. Will give us time to run checks."

Coop grinned. "Spoken like a true engineer. Carry on Lieutenant."
