Mission: Reconstruction and Refocus

=*=Shuttlecraft Billings, en route to Earth Drydock=*=

A mere few hours ago Rozen Coo was the Director of Starfleet Science, but now, with his shoulder bag nestled between his feet, in the passenger seat of the Shuttlecraft he was now headed to the next chapter of his life.

His father had always told him life is like a book, only when the unexpected happens you move to the next chapter. For all intensive purposes the page was turned and the next chapter began.

Rozen Coo found himself on Earth, as Director of Starfleet Science. After the destruction of Starbase Zetari, 204-B, Rozen was hand selected to move up in the ranks and become Director. Having been on that particular Starbase, his staff numbered thousands, as it served as one of the primary frontier centers in the Gamma Quadrant. After the incident, it was nothing more than shrapnel and slag floating around a desolate planet.

That being said, when the position of the Enterprise was offered, Rozen couldn't turn it down. The ship was the cutting edge of science on the cutting edge of discovery. His time at Starfleet Science had been nice, very enjoyable, but he missed being out in the black making discoveries and seeing the universe. When the comm chatter came across, he had no choice but to answer.

Peering out of the front windshield the Enterprise, his new home came into view. Ascension Class Starship, even though it was a few years old at this point, the ship was still fit as a fiddle and top of the line. The exoskeleton of the Drydock facilities were stretched over the hull, and countless support vessels were buzzing about.

The ship had just come back from its 'maiden' voyage. Surprisingly enough most all of the staff was rotated off. The CO and XO were moved to command other postings within Federation borders, and a lot of the staff was being moved into their own Chief roles across the fleet. The nice things about the Enterprise, it set people up for greatness in their careers.

Rozen had not been fully briefed yet about his first mission aboard the Enterprise but he had a few pieces of information:

Starting 3 week previously a odd modulation of a subspace frequency was picked up by an outpost on the edges of space in the Gamma Quadrant. The outpost could do nothing of merit, as the signal was nearly 500 light years into 'undiscovered space'.

'Odd' signals were nothing new to the fleet, but this signal was truly special. Intermixed with the modulation was almost a half century old Starrfleet emergency beacon frequency. There was, on paper, no reason why that would occur. This interested certain areas of Starfleet.

Luckily Rozen collected some data before he departed Starfleet Science, that he would pass along to his new Science staff.

But here he was, he thought as the shuttle landed. He collected his bag and thanked the pilot as he departed. The quartermaster was standing just outside of the shuttlebay, with a padd in hand for a few authorizations for Coo to make.

Coo decided to head straight to the bridge of his new ship. A turbolift later, the doors opened on various personnel making adjustments and calibrating sensors. Coo crossed the bridge, placed his shoulder bag on the ground and had a seat in the Captains Chair.

He sat there a moment in the middle of the hectic bridge, essentially ignored by the busy officers. Somehow the chair seemed to fit him, this is where he felt like he belonged.

He smiled widely looking over the bridge, in a low voice only to himself Rozen quipped, "Let us begin."
