"And what can I do for you Jackson?" Nanee asked as she approached the nurses station. This was also said in a tone of sarcasm seeing as he hasn't published one paper since arriving. "Isn't the medical world waiting for papers or any sign that you're alive?"

Jackson shook his head looking at Nanee, "how many times are we gonna do this dance. Publishing is boring plus haven't seen anything worst publishing." Nanee glared at him and shook her head.

"You do realize the only reason you're here is because the medical journals wants publications." Nanee said sighing, "and you realize it's not you who get's yelled at if they don't get them, right?" Jackson was about to respond when the doors to sickbay opened up.

Zhyalla had her nose in a PADD as she walked in the door, heading forward with a purpose. Her purpose had been to visit the cargo bay because somehow one of her crates of books had ended up in storage instead of in her quarters when she transferred. Hearing a different environment than she expected, she looked up from the PADD and made a small sound of surprise as her antennae twitched in annoyance.

"I could have sworn I'd gotten off at deck nine," she muttered, her eyes landing on the two doctors. "Is everything okay?" she asked, taking in the looks on their faces.

"It would be if he did his job and published cases." Nanee said growling but than realizing what she just said. "My apologies lieutenant didn't mean to take my frustrations out on you. Is there anything I can help you with besides confirming that this is not deck nine."

"Published cases?" Zhyalla repeated, eyebrow raised and one antennae quirked higher than the other in question. "Sickbay's on deck ten, isn't it?"

Jackson stepped forwarded and gave the female Andorian a smile,"doctor Jackson Avery. I promised medical journals that I would publish papers to go into medical journals if I could serve aboard the Enterprise. It's just we haven't come across anything interesting." Jackson sighed and glared at Nanee.

"Do not flirt with her get back to office and at least find something to publish." Nanee said using a tone that ended the conversation, "and yes sickbay is in on deck ten."

"Well, if nothing's fallen into your lap, you should look at finding something. Even if it's something as simple as hand washing habits of enlisted crew on a starship and how it leads to the spread of disease?" Zhyalla offered, the only indication of her amusement and teasing being her antennae bouncing just a little.

Jackson gave a crooked smile and sauntered off, "again my apologies for what you had to witness. He's a great surgeon but.....well.....anyways it seems you're a bit loss?" Nanee said turning her attention to Zhyalla.

"I think I can find my way now, thank you," Zhyalla returned, looking after Jackson. "If he's a great surgeon, how is he having such trouble coming up with papers for the journals?"

"He needs to be inspired I've read a lot of his works and it's impressive. But it's been at least two years since he's published." Nanee said looking a bit worried, "luckily for naval docs we don't need to worry about that kind of thing but a civilian doctor does."

"Two years? That seems quite a dry spell indeed. Hopefully inspiration shall strike him soon," Zhyalla observed. "Maybe he will take my idea about hand washing habits among the enlisted crew." The Andorian woman winked, biting back a smirk, her antennae bouncing in amusement.

Nanee chuckled slightly, "hopefully this mission we're heading to well inspire him as well if not he'll be doing a paper on hand washing."

"There is that. I wasn't sure how involved he was going to be allowed to be, otherwise I might have made the suggestion to him in a serious manner. The hand washing paper could still be a good read, at least for a laugh." Zhyalla smirked, then bowed her head. "If you'll excuse me, I'll set about finding my way up to deck nine. My apologies for interrupting."

"Suppose so, some of the journals might find it interesting especially that it's still the most common way that germs get transferred from person to person." Nanee complicated the idea, "and it was a pleasure seeing you lieutenant."

"Likewise." And with another bow of her head, she turned and headed out of sickbay again. She turned her attention back to her PADD as she pondered looking for Dr. Avery some time when he wasn't in sickbay to pick his mind.
