Time and time again, Kerenal found himself behind yet another console on the bridge, he'd been here a couple of times before but never on the Enterprise, he'd spent time behind both the Helm and Tactical consoles too, all on other ships and so his wide ranging experiences left him in good stead for understanding the needs of other departments, he knew exactly what they'd need from him and the Operations Department.

For now though, his hands were flashing across the console as he reset it and began setting up his own configuration, the MSD display behind him hummed and flashed with the flowing power diagrams, describing the various EPS conduits throughout the ship as they fed power to every little corner of the colossal ship.

Karim sighed as he stood up from his desk and winced at a pain in his back. He'd been sitting too long. Realizing he hadn't taken care of some business that had been overdue, he tapped his combadge "Dhej to Kerenal. Please report to my ready room. Dhej out."

"Aye sir," Kerenal replied as he stepped out from behind the desk and nodded to the duty officer to take his station in the interim, it was only a small trip to the door of the ready room and the El-Aurian found himself pressing the chime and waiting to be called.

Hearing the chime, Karim said "It's open." After the man entered, he gestured to one of the chairs in front of his desk and said "Have a seat Lieutenant." Crossing back to his desk, he perched himself on the edge.

"Thank you, Captain," Kerenal replied as he moved into the office and took a seat in one of the chairs opposite the man before him, he looked young, as everyone did to Kerenal, but behind his eyes the El-Aurian could tell that there was something a bit deeper and inside he knew that there was more than just one man in front of him, "What can I do for you, sir?"

Smiling slightly, Karim replied "I mainly just wanted to meet you Lieutenant. I know you came aboard a short time ago, but with everything that's been happening, I've been a bit slow at meeting the new officers. Forgive me." Pausing, he added "How are you settling in?"

"Well, my arrival was somewhat... unconventional, I'm sure Commander Rinehart compiled a full report for you, but lets just say it has meant that some of the crew are a bit wary of me," the El-Aurian answered honestly as a smile crossed his face, "However it has been great to get back in touch with her, its been a long time coming."

Nodding, he said "I understand Lieutenant. Regardless of how you arrived, its good to have you aboard. Its been a while since we've had a full time OPS officer. Have you had a chance to review the current systems? Do you have any suggestions for any updates?"

"There are a few things we can work on, but for now it's just in the planning stages until I can get to grips with the Chief Engineer and the systems themselves," Kerenal replied with a light chuckle and a nod, "I'll keep you appraised and make sure the reports cross your desk."

"I appreciate that Lieutenant." Karim replied then added "Was there anything else we needed to go over before I let you get back to work?"

"Nothing sir, was there anything you needed from me?" The El-Aurian asked.

Shaking his head, Karim replied "Not right now Lieutenant. I'll see you soon."

Kerenal stood slowly from the chair and made his way back to the door with a large purposeful stride before turning back to look at the Captain of this Enterprise, "You too sir, It's an honour to be able to serve on a ship with as much prestige as the Enterprise, I'll try to do her justice." the El-Aurian said as he stepped out and back onto the bridge which was humming with activity as usual.
