Mission: Reconstruction and Refocus
Location: Sickbay

Jennell had finished all of her physicals, and had heard of a new counsellor that was coming aboard the ship. She hoped that the new counselor would choose to make a visit soon.

Shakkar left the bridge and wnet on his way to sickbay as the CO suggested. He entered the nearest turbolift and watched as the doors closed. He preformed the "Picard maneuver." on his uniform before he spoke. " Deck ten." he ordered. The lift came to life. Within a few minutes the lift stopped. Shakkar logged into the wall console and found a quick path to sickbay. He entered and began to take a look around.

Jennell was sitting in the Chief Medical Officers office, filling out some reports while the CMO was still out of it.

Shakkar stuck his head in. " Hello?" he said

"Hello." She replied, looking over at the door of the office, and seeing a Lieutenant JG in medical Teal that she hadn't met before. She presumed that this was the new counselor. "Come in, please. How can I help Lieutenant?" She asked, smiling.

"Just came from the CO actually." he smiled back. "I guess I do need to be checked out." he let out a small laugh.

Jennell nodded. "In that case, follow me to one of our treatment rooms. I'm guessing you're the new counsellor?" She asked smiling.

"Good guess!" he replied, smiling.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Lieutenant Junior Grade Jennell Forgrave, Assistant Chief Medical Officer, and currently Acting Chief Medical Officer."

"Pleasure. Ltjg Shakkr Jontar at your service." he said, following the doctor

"Glad to meet you Lieutenant. At the moment I'm standing in for the Chief Medical Officer. She's come down with a nasty illness, which is being looked at." She smiled, entering one of the treatment areas. "So as you may know we have 6 of these treatment areas, private rooms for examinations or chats, I'm sure they'll be useful. As well as that we have 3 minor bays and 2 resus bays. We also have uses of the surgical bays and, if we need them, we have triage setups for any mass cas incidents." She finished. "Anyway, if you'd like to have a seat and we'll get started. Any issues or allergies that have come about over the last few months?" She asked, smiling.

"No, nothing like that." Shakkar replied, returning the smile as he sat

"Good, good! If you'd like to lay back on the bed and we'll get a quick scan and then that'll be the physical done." She said smiling again.

"Okay then." Shakkar said, smiling. He did just that. "I know the drill. Was a nurse on my first ship."

"And how did you find that?" Jennell asked. "What made you want the change to councelling?" She asked, giving a questioning look. It was very rare to find a Nurse transferring to Councelling.

"Life curcumstances mostly." Shakkar replied. "I've always had a foot in both camps to keep my cert current though." he smiled.

Jennell nodded. "Well, i'm happy to have you here, you being a nurse might be helpful if things get to hectic, if you don't mind lending a hand of course." She said, tapping a few things into her PADD.

"Happy to help anytime." Shakkar took a breath. "Glad to!"

"Good to hear! Ok, scans complete...lets have a look see." She said, looking over the scan. "Hmmmmmm, have you ever had any issues with your eyesight Lieutenant?" She asked, with a puzzled look.

This hit him out of left field. He looked back and drew a blank. "Never have in the past." he replied, puzzled.

"There's a slight discrepancy in your vision, it shouldn't cause any issues now, however it could get worse. We have several options to correct it, such as minor surgery, glasses, or contact lenses. Let me know which you'd prefer and we can arrange for you to come back for the procedure, or tests." She said, smiling.

Shakkar considered his options and quickly came to a notion. "All sound good but I'm leaning towards glasses with the option of surgery down the line if it gets too bad. Does that make sense?"

Jennell nodded. "Of course, I can book you in for an appointment tomorrow at 10am?" Jennell asked, checking her schedule.

"Sounds good to me." Shakkar replied. "10 am." he repeated to satisfy his own memory. "If I run late just page me." he added.

"Will do. That's all booked in for you, and i'll see you then!" Jennell replied, noting down the appointment and saving it. "Thank you for coming." Jennell said, standing and heading for the door.

Shakkar followed. "Sure thing, Doc." he replied.
