Mission: Reconstruction and Refocus

Maria was busy at the auxiliary science console looking over data that was still flowing in fast and furious. But what caught Maria's eyes was actual cells within the signal and hell the nebula itself. "Commander....." Maria said running a comparison scan and actually finding a match. "Thi th this.....can't be possible......" She muttered running a second scan just to make sure.

Coop looked slightly perplexed, "What am I looking at?"

"This scan is of the signal this scan is of the nebula and these scans are from our database. All dating to when the Enterprise and captain Archer dealt with the Xindi and Suliban." Maria said allowing the commander to study the results. "These cells were found in that Sulbin fluidic space."

"Impossible is only a descriptor for something not yet understood." Ensign Kharg added with a small smirk creasing her lips. "Though I admit, that this particular happenstance is... quite strange."

Given all Starfleet knew about the Suliban and their use of temporal tech..."Strange, but not out of realm of possibility. Is this a one hundred percent match? I mean we all agree that the likelyhood that this is the same group of Suliban that Admiral Archer ran into nearly three centuries ago is pretty remote..."

"No not exact match. But close. Like a clone." Maria said marking parts of the DNA of the cell. "See how the DNA is the same but little pieces like here and here were off."

Leaning back from her intense study, Ayissa took a moment to rub at her eyes. "A purposeful recreation, or accidental?" She mused, more to herself than the others, for the moment. "Given that it seems to have initiated a signal, it would lend towards the belief that it was indeed intended."

"Problem is that perhaps their sensors are limited by the nebula...means they know someone's out here...We need definitive answers ladies...the Suliban were known in the 22nd century to be genetically modifying themselves...could that be why you're seeing differences?"

“Could be.” Maria said looking at the scans. “We’ll need several samples.” Maria said not looking forwarded to actually going out into that mess out there. “As for the signal the same Suliban DNA we are finding within the nebula we are also finding in the signal mixed with the Xindi-Instectoid DNA.”

"I don't know if we are going to be able to decipher anything definitively at all, even with a multitude of samples." Kharg interjected, frowning pensively. "As it is, my best postulation is that we are either dealing with a set of beings who have been genetically modified, whether through interbreeding or experimentation; or...there was a peculiar incident that had led to all of these seemingly disparate genealogical markers to have pooled into this singular nebula, and they are mingling in a more erratic fashion."

"While we can at least gather some notion of what we are likely to encounter by further study," the Ensign continued, tapping a finger against the side of her padd, "I personally believe that we will not have a real answer until we encounter the origin point of this signal itself."

"Navigating a nebula is tricky...so we will get there as soon as we can. Do the best you can from here and as we get closer I'll arrange for you to get closer to get better information. Til then, link to the Federation archives and see what kind of information the Enterprise was able to get during her time in the Delvic Expanse. Cross reference what they have with our data and have some type of working theory when we get to the source. Questions?"

"Aye, sir. No inquiries at this time." Kharg nodded, turning her attention back fully to the padd in hand, immediately tapping away to begin following the order given.

"No sir." Maria said. "I am gonna head back to the labs."

Lifting one hand slightly to wave at Lionza, Ayissa did not break her current study. "I will meet you there in short order. We can continue further."

"Ensign Lionza...a word?"
