Duty Log - CEO - Lt Cmdr Rhodes

Posted on 241404.20 @ 8:41pm by Acting Captain Mark Rhodes

Mission: Where no man has gone before.

=*= Deck 5, Section 11-B, Junction 18=*=

Lieutenant Commander Mark Rhodes had his leather tool bag slung over his shoulder as he climbed down a Jefferies tube to get at an access panel he has been searching for for the past couple days. It was marked on the schematics as being in a different place, different deck entirely. After pouring through the records from the design tables from Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and the work orders from McKinley Station he finally found a sticky note of information mentioning the moving of the panel for 'easier access.'

Stopping half way down the shaft he leaned his back on the side wall of the tube and pulled his tool kit off his shoulder. Opening it in his lap he then reached through the ladder to pop the panel off, sliding it down and securing it with a strap to prevent it from falling down the shaft.

"'Easier to get' to my a-" the last word was drowned out by the sound of a loud hiss from Mark closing a valve. Mark had been looking for the panel because he wanted to preform more diagnostics on the ships weapon systems. The systems on the ship were new to him and he was trying to get himself up to speed as quick as possible.

Shutting down the valve he could preform a proper Level 1 Diagnostic because the system wasn't fully charged. He adjusted a few of the isolinear chops and reached for the panel. He carefully replaced the panel and reslung his bag over his shoulder. Climbing down the shaft and popping out into a corridor.

He got onto the nearest turbolift and made a few notes on a PaDD for the crewman who was going to go reopen the valve once the diagnostic was over. He stepped off the TL and walked into Main Engineering and started the diagnostic at the main terminal.

The terminal read that it was going to take at approx 6 hrs, 45 min. He walked into his office, throwing his bag on his couch and sitting at his desk. He sent a note to the bridge to inform them the weapons were currently offline for diagnostic work, and forwarded a note to his engineering crews.

In the meantime he started to pour over the PaDDs of reports from the engineering department for this week.
