Mission: Suicidal Running Title

Doctor Rogers sat up slowly to the edge of the bio bed. Her back and waist ached with every breath and move. Her feet had not touched the ground in a week or so, and nor would they until Scarlet had summoned the courage to do so. Waiting for her medical officer to return to discharge her, Scarlet pondered the implications of what that discharge meant. Of course, regardless she would be returning to work for a while, but the fact that she would not be resting in her quarters, where she would feel more relaxed, but in the brig. Her hands ran through her hair to try and ease the stress. She needed her Thelin to comfort her. He didn't know yet, and she didn't know how well he'd take it. She did after all hit him when she thought he was a traitor. Of course Scarlet was being falsely accused but she understood that all evidence pointed to herself.

With the corner of her eye she saw the Doctor return and the Security personnel walk in with her. Sitting back up straight slowly and painfully, she smiled weakly.

Looking over the latest blood tests, vitals, EKGs and other tests Nanee was convinced that the chief could be discharged. What that actually meant for her was not the greatest thing for recovery nor was it good for the staff. It meant they would need to check in on her in the brig daily or even twice daily. It also meant their department head was in the brig which wasn't good for morale.

Sighing a bit Nanee signed off on the release forms and the chart as a finished chart and case. Heading to the room she nodded to the guard outside the door and she pressed her palm against the biometric scanner. "Commander how are we feeling today?" Nanee asked.

"Like I'm about to have a life of hell in the brig for a while," Scarlet smirked a little.

Nanee nodded handing her the release orders, "just need your thumb print and you'll be discharged. A physician mate or doctor will be checking on you twice daily." Nanee said glad she knew about the brig part of things. "And I'll be the acting chief while you're.....indisposed."

"Do me a favour?" Scarlet looked down then back up after considering how to put this, "You heard the conversation the captain had about the reason behind me going to the brig, can you tell Thelin. I haven't seen him since."

"The captain didn't tell me why you're being sent to the brig upon being discharged. But I can inform Thelin you've been sent to the brig." Nanee said professionally, "and truth be told it'll be better for me to not know why you've been sent to the brig." Nanee said being completely honest with the women.

"False accusations," Scarlet replied bluntly before turning her attention to the security officers, "Let's go then."

Sighing Nanee just shook her head taking the discharge PaDD back and leaving the room allowing security to their job. Realizing that the damn civil war was all over the place. All she wanted to do was practice medicine.

"Lucas, I am sure you are going to enjoy this but I only ask for one thing," Scarlet began tiredly, "No cuffs or restraints in general, I want to walk this though this is a mistake. I am not criminal and I would like what is left of my dignity to remain here."

Alyssa wasn't alone, on the other side of her stood a young junior grade officer waiting for his orders also. Both had been silent as they waited for the discharge to be finalized. While Tegan didn't say anything or move within his stance, Aly did. Her gaze hard upon Scarlet. "I won't cuff you, but not because I'm worried about your dignity, or because you think you are being falsely accused. But because of your injuries. I don't want their to be any risk of you hurting yourself between here and the Brig."

Sliding off the biobed slowly, Scarlet attempted to stand. Her hands remained on the biobed until she felt steady and then looked back to Aly, "let's go."

A motion was given to Tegan who stepped forwards to the left as Aly moved to step to the right. With the Doctor between them to make their way down to the Brig.

Nanee just shook her head wondering if that was her life if she had remained on Zetari. And now the one thing she didn't want was forced upon her being the leader. Grabbing the PaDD she headed back to the nurses desk and input the commander's chart and assign a couple of physician mates and doctors to her case.

Scarlet's walk was sow and pained and she reached out to Aly asking her to slow down. She was breathless and quite pale.

A nod was given to the other Security officer as they slowed down. Both officers offering an arm for Scarlet to take for balance if she needed it. So that the three of them could make it down to the Brig.

Scarlet grabbed hold of the offered arms. Although she wanted to keep her dignity, she also knew that she needed help, "You're enjoying this aren't you Lucas?"

"No" Alyssa said instantly. "I never enjoy having to detain a fellow officer. No matter what you may choice to believe." Her voice was low to keep passer by's from hearing, but clear enough that Scarlet would hear the truth within her voice.

"As much as I have done wrong in abandoning your side out there, the charges I face are false," Scarlet said quietly with desperation in her voice, "I need you to help me."

Well that brought a slight look over to Scarlet a moment. "Now, you want my help. Now, when you are in trouble. But when I was seeking answers to keep things like this from happening you wanted to argue with me?" Aly sighed a moment as she turned to keep focus on where they were walking. "I'll help you, as I planned on doing in the first place. I never believed you had anything to do with this mess."

"I'm fully aware I screwed up and I will explain the th'Zarath situation to you," the doctor sighed slightly.

"Thank you" Aly said simply as they reached the Brig. "But later, right now you need to rest."

Scarlet looked at the cell before her. She hoped she wouldn't be here long, she wanted the comforts of her own bed and needed to rest in the seclusion of her own quarters. This was clearly where dignity went to die.
