Mission: Reconstruction and Refocus
Location: USS Enterprise

=*=Commanding Officers Office=*=

Captain Rozen Coo had just arrived back to his office after wandering about the ship for a while. Checking in with various Department Heads and key crew positions. He had just settled back into his office to go over data streams and status updates.

Rozen shifted a padd or three on his desk and called out to the door, "Come."

Shakkar stepped in and centered himself at the CO's desk. He saw the stack of pads on his desk and inwardly winced. The last thing he wanted to do was add to it, but orders were orders. "Lieutenant JG Shakkar Jontar reporting, Captain." he said, reluctantly handing over the padd containing his orders.

Rozen stood up out of courtesy for the Lieutenant, taking the padd, he glanced at it briefly then put it down. "Nice to meet you Lieutenant," he said putting out a hand for a shake.

Shakkar smiled as he took his CO's hand. "Likewise, sir." he replied.

"Have a seat, please," Rozen gestured to a seat in front of his desk while taking his own. "I trust the journey wasn't too taxing? I know we were not able to bring you aboard before we departed Earth, how did you manage to catch a ride? I don't remember the Helmsmen pulling over to bring on hitchhikers," said Rozen with a chuckle at his own joke.

"Journey was fine, thanks." Shakkar replied joining in on the laughing. "Hitched a ride on a runabout ran by an academy buddy."

"Its all about who you know," said Rozen with a smile. "So," said Rozen pushing the padd with Shakkar's information on it. "Tell me a little bit about your service career? I could read it, or I could get to know you personally."

"Well I lived on Bajor for most of my life. Parents were in the Militia, and they were content to be so. I, on the other hand always wanted more. In my last grade level I heard a lecture about the merits of joining Starfleet. My parents were pushing the militia so I guess I signed up out of 'rebellion,'" he began. He took a breath. "Got to the Academy without a major picked and I saw another cadet in the same boat. Struck up a conversation and I guess we helped each other through our confusion. He talked about flying and I helped him choose helm. I liked that so I decided to give counseling a shot. Minored in medical."

"Held space duty as a Nurse slash Morale officer. From there I got reassigned to a Starbase where I furthered my education. There I was a junior counselor. Space called to me so I applied for starship duty. I have to admit that I didn't expect the Enterprise! I'm honored."

"Well we are glad to have you aboard," said Rozen. "Part of the reason I am here as well is wanting to be on the frontier of space. I spent some times behind a desk, but I always preferred the black. I am glad to hear you are also a qualified practitioner of medicine. I am sure between your Counselor duties some time can be made in Sickbay keeping your certifications current."

"I'll make a point to do that sir." he replied. "Any way that I can be of use."

"I would appreciate it if you touch base with the Assistant Chief of Medical," replied Rozen. "Well, unless there is anything else Councilor, I have a few reports to get into Fleet," said Rozen.

"I'll head there straight away, Captain." the Bajoran replied.

"Fantastic," Rozen stood up and extended his hand for another handshake. "Thank you and welcome aboard."

"And thank you for having me," he replied, returning the gesture

As the Counslor exited his office Rozen sat down and continued his reports.
